Obit: Florence Blowen, Obituary, April 22, 2001 Source: Journal Inquirer Manchester,CT (issue Apr 26, 2001) Submitter: ABishop, Apr 2001 Florence Blowen Florence Blowen, 90, of High Meadow Lane, Enfield, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Sydney and Margaret (Ferguson) Blowen, she was born in Lowell, Mass., and had lived in Enfield for most of her life. Florence graduated from Enfield High School and then from Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Mass., with an associate's degree. She was employed at Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Mills in Thompsonville for nine years and then was positioned as a secretary at The Hartford Insurance Co. for 30 years. Florence is survived by a niece, Margaret I. Miller and her husband, Joseph Miller Sr., of Enfield; two great-nieces, Nicole Florence Miller and her fiance, Todd Allen Cruickshank, and Heather Marie Miller, both of Enfield; one great-nephew, Joseph E. Miller Jr. of Enfield; two great-great-nieces, Tiffanie Marie and Brittanie Ann Cruickshank; and a great-grandnephew, Todd Allen Cruickshank II. The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, from Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, followed at 10 a.m. by a service at Calvary Presbyterian Church, Enfield. Burial will be at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield. Florence's family will receive relatives and friends from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at the funeral home.
