Brooks Raymond J. Brooks, 78, of Broad Brook, the husband of Henrietta (Petersen) Brooks, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001. He was born Oct. 7, 1922, in Hartford, the son of the late Alfred and Margaret Brooks. Raymond was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of Steamfitters Union Local 218. In addition to Henrietta, his wife of 47 years, he is survived by a son, Vincent Quinn of South Carolina; three daughters, May Allevo of Enfield, Patricia Janssen of Holyoke, Mass., and Susan Kemp of Greenback, Tenn.; three sisters, Betty Arbo of Niantic, Dorothy James of Florida and Connecticut, and Margaret Devanny of New York; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
