Mrs. Martha S. Button

Mrs. Martha (Steele) Button, 77, widow of Francis W. Button, died late Saturday

after a few months' illness at her home on Elm Street.  Mrs. Button was born in

Enfield March 3, 1872, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Clark) Steele, and 

had been a life-long resident of the town.  She leaves one son, Edward W. Button

of Thompsonville, and one daughter, Mrs. Elsie King of Hazardville; two brothers,

William and James Steele, both of Enfield; eight grandchildren and six great-

grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted from the home Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock with

Rev. Burt L. Hilton, pastor of the Hazardville Methodist Church, officiating, and

interment was in the Enfield Street Cemetery.
