(Frisk) Bayer, 78, of Manchester, widow of the late Harold T. "Hal" Bayer Sr., died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 15, 2001, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born April 4, 1923, in New Britain, daughter of the late John A. and Amelia (Dahlstrom) Frisk, she had been a resident of Manchester for more than 50 years. Mrs. Bayer was employed as a cosmetician for the former D&L Store in the Manchester Parkade for more than 25 years until her retirement. She attended Trinity Covenant Church in Manchester and was a member of the Manchester Senior Citizens and the AARP. Mrs. Bayer was an avid duckpin bowler and an outstanding cook. She is survived by her four children, Cheryl McMahon and her husband, Mike, of North Conway, N.H., Harold T. Bayer Jr. and his wife, Patty, of Broad Brook, Jeffrey Bayer of Manchester, and Leslie A. Martel and her husband, Peter, of Dover, N.H.; two brothers, Stuart Frisk and his wife, Ruth, of New Britain, and Ronald Frisk and his wife, Sheila, of Kensington; a sister, Nancy Peisel and her husband, Harry, of Sylva, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Trinity Covenant Church, 302 Hackmatack St., Manchester. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Holmes Funeral Home, Manchester, has care of the arrangements.
