It is always best to consult the original material for verification. ************************************************************************ ******************************************************************************************** Anne (Nyce) Cole Anne (Nyce) Cole, 63, of Sokol Road, Somers, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at her home. She was born in Great Falls, Va., and lived there most of her life before moving to Somers about 20 years ago. Anne was a communicant of and served as the organist at St. Mary Church in Hampden, Mass., for many years as well as accompanying the variety show at All Saints Church in Somersville. She was first employed as a secretary for the CIA for several years, and then as an executive international secretary for Phoenix Mutual Group in Hartford before retiring in 1999. Many people enjoyed her talent as an interior decorator in their homes all over the community. Anne is survived by her husband, John Cole of Virginia; her mother, Margaret (Oliver) Nyce of Enfield; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Debra Gibson of Stephens City, Va.; a daughter, Dorothy Cole of Manassas, Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Karen Nyce of Warrenton, Va.; three grandchildren, Sean Michael, James Jr., and Jesse Lee; one great-grandchild, Nathaniel Adam; a godmother, Beverly Hinkell of Maryland; and a special friend, Carol Toupence of Hampden. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 27, from the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Hampden. Burial will be at Somers Center Cemetery in Somers. Anne's family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the funeral home.
