Campbell George W. Campbell, of Hazard Ave., Hazardville, passed away yesterday, after a long illness, in Norwich State Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Robert and Hannah (Thompson) Campbell, and at the time of death was 84 years old. He was married to the late Adelaide Allen. For the greater part of his life, Mr. Campbell was a barber, self-employed. He was a member of the Hazardville Methodist Church and was well known for his interest in the youth of the town. Campbell Field at Powder Hill was named for him in recognition of his interest. He was, for many years, manager of the Hazardville Powder Kegs baseball team. Mr. Campbell is survived by a son, G. Allen Campbell of Hazardville, one grand- daughter and two great grand-children. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m., at the Somers Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Kenneth Pearson officiating.
