Cannon The funeral of John J. Cannon, 36 Lincoln street, who died last Thursday at the Springfield Hospital after a short illness, was conducted Monday morning from the Browne Funeral Home, followed by services in St. Patrick's Church at 9 o'clock. Rev. William J. Gerrity celebrated the solemn high mass, assisted by the pastor, Rev. William P. Kilcoyne, as deacon, and Rev. Lawrence Malley, St. Paul, Minn., as subdeacon. Miss Esther E. Liberty was soloist. Bearers were Deputy Sheriff L. Donald Graham, Joseph Sullivan, Harold Sullivan, James Rowan, William Halden and Earl Ryder. Father Gerrity conducted the committal services at the grave in St. Patrick's Cemetery. A native of this place, Mr. Cannon learned the trade of barber when a young man in the shop of the late Charles W. Graham and later conducted a barbershop in the old Hotel Gilmore Block in Springfield for several years. In recent years he had been employed as an electrician by the Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Company.
