Coro, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. Fran was born on Feb. 24, 1952, in Springfield, daughter of Rosemarie (Devine) Crowley and the late Francis "Wee" J. Crowley, who passed May 11, 1994. Fran was a lifelong resident of Enfield, a graduate of Enfield High School, and received her nursing degree from St. Francis School of Nursing, Hartford. She was employed as a nurse for 19 years with St. Francis Hospital, and for 10 years with Women's Health Group. Fran was a member of the Enfield Police Steering Committee, the Enfield Democratic Town Committee, and St. Patrick Church. Besides her husband, Robert, and mother, Rosemarie, Fran is survived by her loving family: eight brothers, Patrick Crowley and his wife, Barbara, Darrell Crowley, Roy Crowley and his wife, Arlene, Kevin Crowley, Anthony DiPace and his wife, Ida, Ben Ortiz and his wife, Lisa, Robert Ortiz and his wife, Sheila, and Thomas Stevens and his wife, Georgette; three sisters, Cheryl Crowley and Frank Tammaro, Valerie Norris and her husband, Bill "Bumper," and Sandra Pouliot. Fran was a dedicated and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at St. Patrick Church, Enfield. Burial will be private in St. Patrick King St. Cemetery. Fran's family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield (Exit 48 off I-91, east on Route 110 for 1¼ miles).
