He was born in Springfield, the son of the late Leslie W. and Helen (Boyle) Cripps. He resided in New Port Richey for the past 10 years, and in Windsor prior to moving to Florida. Leslie was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War. He operated the former family business, L.D. Cripps & Sons Painting Contractors of Enfield. He was a lifetime member of the Salvation Army. Leslie is survived by his beloved wife, Frances P. (O'Brien) Cripps; sons Bart L. Cripps and his wife, Patricia, of Merrimack, N.H., and Bret D. Cripps and his wife, Pamela, of Agawam, Mass.; stepsons James E. O'Brien Jr. of Tolland and Jeffrey A. O'Brien of Windsor; stepdaughters Jacqueline A. Arrigo of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Jane F. Strand of Irvine, Calif.; grandchildren Anthony J., Angela L., and Nicholas Cripps, Randy and Donna Luffman, John Sheehan, and Sara K. Cripps, Heather J., Brittany T., Meaghan R. Cripps; great-grandchild Mallory Cripps; stepgrandchildren, Michael and Kelly O'Brien, Anthony and Timothy Arrigo, and Adam, Zachary, and Jake Strand; two brothers, Terrence L. Cripps of Agawam and Cahill Cripps of Enfield; and seven nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Gwen (Cripps) LaTaille.
