Joseph J. Caruso, 79, of Enfield, husband of Palmyra (Depalma) Caruso, died Sunday, 
May 13, 2001, at Hartford Hospital.

He was born Jan. 15, 1922, the son of the late John and Francesca (Mazzola) Caruso, 
and lived in Enfield for the past 47 years. Prior to his retirement he was employed 
at Hamilton Standard Co.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Andrea Wiley and 
Robert Flanagan of Colchester, Jeanine and Jim Shine of Farmington, Joseph Caruso and 
Arlene Richards of Tustin, Calif., Michelle Caruso of Los Angeles, Anthony Caruso of 
Enfield, Michael Caruso of Newington, Mili Caruso of Sarasota, Fla., Francesca and 
Dennis Bogoslofski of Somers, John Caruso of Braintree, Vt., and Therese Caruso of 
Enfield; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers and their spouses, 
John and Dottie Caruso of North Bellmore, Long Island, N.Y., Pat and Louise Caruso of 
Bayville, Long Island, N.Y., and Sal and Carol Caruso of Whitestone, Long Island, N.Y.;
and a sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice and Henry Ulrich of LaGrange, N.C. He was 
predeceased by a sister, Mary Marra, and brother, Frank Caruso.

The funeral was held Wednesday, May 16, at Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road, 
West Suffield. Burial was private.
