TITLE: William "Bill" Crimmins, Obituary, March 19, 2003 SUBMITTERS: Journal Inquirer Manchester,CT (issue March 21, 2003) FORMATTED: ABishop, March 2003 ***************************************************************************** CRIMMINS William "Bill" Crimmins, 54, of Willimantic, CT, passed away suddenly on Wednesday (March 19, 2003) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Hartford, CT on May 10, 1948, he was a son of Joyanne (Wood) Crimmins of East Hartford, CT and the late William C. Crimmins. He grew up in East Hartford, CT, where he attended elementary schools. He was a 1966 graduate of East Catholic High School, Manchester, CT, and a 1971 graduate from Central Connecticut State College, New Britain, CT. Prior to his retirement, he was an Industrial Arts teacher for over 20 years at Illing Junior High School, Manchester, CT. Bill was instrumental in editing and formatting a book on the history of blacks in the city of Hartford written by Dr. Stanley Battle. Bill was an avid outdoorsman as he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. He had a passion for cooking and woodworking, as he was a juries craftsman. Besides his beloved mother of East Hartford, CT, Bill is survived by his loving companion and best friend, Martha Krug of Willimantic, CT, with whom he made his home, and her two children, Lillie Krug and Timothy Krug. Bill is also survived by his two sons, Jonathan Crimmins and Erik Crimmins, both of Waltham, MA; two brothers, Timothy P. Crimmins and his wife, Maureen, of Windsor, CT; Michael J. Crimmins of Manchester, CT; a niece, Jennifer; two nephews, Timothy and Derek; several cousins and close friends. The funeral service will be Tuesday (March 25, 2003) at 9:45 AM from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford, CT with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge Drive, East Hartford, CT. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday (March 24th) from 4-7 PM.
