TITLE: Arthur Francis Dux, Obituary, April 7, 2001 SUBMITTERS: Journal Inquirer Manchester,CT (issue Apr 11, 2001) FORMATTED: ABishop, Apr 2001 ***************************************************************************** Arthur Francis Dux Arthur Francis Dux, 80, of South Windsor, husband of the late Florence (Herter) Dux, died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Manchester May 14, 1920, son of the late Frederic W. and Helen (Plizza) Dux, he had lived in South Windsor for the past 44 years. Arthur served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Japan, and received the Army Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Before retiring, he was employed at Vogel's and at General Baking Co. for 23 years. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, South Windsor. He leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Michelle Dux of Bellevue, Wash.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol Lancaster of South Windsor and Linda and Cromwell Rawls of Florence, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Michael, Edward, Christina, Bryan, Jerry, A.J., and Joseph; four great-grandchildren, Robert, Emily, Lucas, and Alexis; a sister, Virginia Hollister of Glastonbury; and his beloved cat, "Nancy." A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, with the Rev. Rolf A. Buchmann officiating. Burial will be in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. His family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, prior to the service at the funeral home.
