(Kehoe) Desmarais of Coventry, beloved wife of John and devoted mother of Angela, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Hartford Hospital. Born Sept. 22, 1957, in Manchester, she grew up in South Windsor before moving to Coventry. Karen was a graduate of South Windsor High School. Karen enjoyed gardening, playing cards, scratching her lottery tickets, and going to the beach. She was an avid UConn Huskies and Yankees fan. Karen cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially her friends from town. Her life was spent always caring for other people. Besides Karen's husband of 16 years, John, she is survived by her daughter, Angela of Coventry; her father and mother, Charles and Gwen (Kramer) Kehoe of South Windsor; two sisters, Diane Kehoe of Windsor and Sharline Dowd and her husband, Tim, of Windsor Locks; a brother, Charles Kehoe and his wife, Rosa Marie, of Agawam, Mass.; several nieces and nephews and other relatives, and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, from the Coventry Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Turnpike (Route 44), Coventry, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Coventry. Burial will be in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, May 7, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Karen's name to the American Cancer Society, 73A Haynes St., Manchester, CT 06040. *********************************************** Copyright.
