Dessert Beatrice B. Dessert, 78, formerly of West Street, Avery Park, Stafford Springs, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Chestnut Point Care Center, East Windsor, surrounded by her family. She was the widow of the late Roland E. Dessert Sr., who died Nov. 3, 1995. She was born in New Bedford, Mass., the daughter of Adelard and Aurore (Chaille) Marotte. She was a member of St. Edward Parish, Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and an honorary life member of the ladies auxiliary of the Italian Benefit Society. Beatrice is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert D. and Debra Dessert of Brimfield, Mass., Thomas R. and Susan Dessert of Stafford Springs, Roland E. and Kimberly Dessert of Enfield, and Richard E. Dessert of Stafford Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet L. and Andrew Smith of East Windsor, Diane A. and Richard H. Willis of Stafford Springs; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Marcel and Alice Marotte of Raynham, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, April 30, at Introvigne Funeral Home Inc., 51 E. Main St., Stafford Springs, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Edward Church, High Street, Stafford Springs. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at the funeral home.
