Daly Madeline S. Daly, 89, beloved wife of 66 years of the former first selectman of East Windsor, John L. Daly Jr., died peacefully Thursday, April 19, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in Windsor Locks, Madeline lived in Broad Brook all of her life. She was retired as a receptionist at J.M. Ney Co. and she was involved with the Butterfly Club at J.M. Ney. Madeline was a longtime communicant of St. Philip Church, East Windsor. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Besides her devoted husband John, Madeline is survived by her children and their spouses, Jacqueline Breines of Cincinnati, Judith Moore and her husband, Larry, of Somers, John L. "Skip" Daly III and his wife, Cindy, of East Windsor, Donna Gill and her husband, Luke, of Forth Worth, Texas, and William Daly and his wife, Paula, of Killingworth; her brother, William L. Stone of Windsor; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nephews. She was predeceased by two sons-in-law, Ronald Soltis and Norman Breines. Madeline's funeral will be held at 8:45 a.m. Monday, April 23, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, followed by a procession to St. Philip Church, East Windsor, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery, Broad Brook. Madeline's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at the funeral home.
