Danford, wife of Gary E. Bechard, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Westerly Hospital, Westerly, R.I. Born in Limerick, Ireland, she had lived in Windsor and moved to Stonington nine years ago. Maureen brought her family to Windsor from Ireland in 1963 and was an avid reader and walker, and loved children and was blessed to see two generations of her family grow up in America. Besides her husband, Gary Bechard, she leaves three sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick and Cheryl Danford, Gerard and Annukka Danford, and James Danford; a daughter, Mary Danford; and nine grandchildren, Carrie, Patrick, Deirdre, Agatha, Michael, Nicholas, Emma, Thomas, and Christian; and two great-grandchildren, Patrick and Elizabeth; and many other relatives in Ireland, Florida, and New York City. She was predeceased by two sisters, Joanne and Phyllis. The funeral service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday, June 1, from the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel Church, Windsor. Burial will be in Palisado Cemetery, Windsor. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at the funeral home.
