John H. Egner The Rev. John H. Egner, 86, a native of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, who last served as a pastor for the United Presbyterian Church, South Ryegate, VT., died March 3 in a Windsor convalescent home. He had lived at J2 Laurel Court, Suffield. He came to the United States in the early 1900s and received his citizenship while serving in the Army during World War I. Upon his retirement, he lived in Deleware for 10 years before moving to Suffiled five years ago. His wife, Mrs. Patience Love Egner, died Feb. 1. He leaves a son, J. David Egner of Burlington, VT.; three daughters, Mrs. Nancy E. Holuk of Peabody, Mass., Mrs. Mary E. Scalise of Brookline, Mass., and Mrs. Constance E. Davis of West Suffield; and 11 grandchildren. A graveside service was held March 6 in Thompsonville Cemetery, Enfield. A memorial service will be conducted April 25 at 10 a.m. in United Presbyterian Church, South Ryegate, VT.
