TITLE: John Fecko Sr., Obituary, May 5, 2001 SUBMITTERS: Journal Inquirer Manchester,CT (issue May 7, 2001) FORMATTED: ABishop, June 2001 ***************************************************************************** FECKO John Fecko Sr., "Pop-Pop," 88, of Ellington, husband of the late Della (Wasilefsky) Fecko, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Rockville General Hospital. Born in New Boston, Pa., he lived in this area 50 years. He had worked as a coal miner in Pennsylvania for 20 years before coming to Connecticut, and was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 20 years prior to his retirement in 1975. He was a communicant of St. Bernard Church. John was a devoted family man and a wonderful father and grandfather. His loving family was the most important part of his life, and he will be missed by all. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Eleanor and Philip Richardson of Wintergarden, Fla., and Marion Reutter and Joan Froehlich, both of Ellington; his sons and daughters-in-law, John Jr. and Sandra Fecko of Vernon and William and Donna Fecko of Manchester; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a daughter, Bernice Warner. A funeral service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, at the Ladd-Turkington Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard Church, St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Vernon. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 7, at the funeral home.
