Foley Jr., age 75, of New City Road, Staffordville, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at Evergreen Health Center, Stafford Springs. Tom was born in Stafford and was a lifelong resident; he retired from the federal government in 1991 after 14 years as an OSHA inspector. Prior to that he was employed at GAF in Stafford for 30 years. Tom was a champion skeet shooter, both nationally and statewide, winning many trophies; he enjoyed the competition and skill. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis (Belcher) Foley; his mother, Linda F. Foley; two daughters, Myrna and Greg Dickinson of Staffordville and Linda Vail of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; three sons, Tucker and JoAnn Foley, Jim and Roslyn Foley, both of Staffordville, and Robert and Cindy Foley of Stafford Springs; a brother, Bill Foley of California; four granddaughters, Kristen Knight, Jody Tocchetti, Rynne Foley, and Rhonda Foley; and two great-granddaughters, Morgan Knight and Whitney Knight. Family and friends may gather for a graveside service at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at Stafford Springs Cemetery, Monson Road, Stafford Springs, with the Rev. Sharon Miesel officiating. Tocchetti Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Stafford, has charge of arrangements.
