(Fudge) Fletcher Ruth M. (Fudge) Fletcher, 82, widow of George A. Fletcher, of Vernon, formerly of South Windsor, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at a local nursing home. Born in Lynn, Mass., on March 12, 1919, she had lived in South Windsor, and in Florida for 20 years, before moving to Vernon. She leaves three sons and two daughters-in-law, Harry Fletcher of Farmington, Alan and Valarie Fletcher of Seymour, Mo., and Peter and Jennifer Fletcher of Vernon; two daughters and a son-in-law, Phyllis and Ronald MacLachlan of South Windsor, and Meri-jane Zerio of Manchester; a sister, Dorothy Savard of Marblehead, Mass.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a son, G. Raymond Fletcher. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 60 Church St., Manchester. Burial will be private in Beechwood Cemetery, Gloucester, Mass. Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, South Windsor, is assisting the family with arrangements.
