TITLE: Elviera (Morosani) Flanagan, Obituary, May 4, 2001 SUBMITTERS: Journal Inquirer Manchester,CT (issue May 7, 2001) FORMATTED: ABishop, June 2001 ***************************************************************************** FLANAGAN Elviera (Morosani) Flanagan closed her eyes for the last time Friday, May 4, 2001, surrounded by loving family members. She reopened them in the Kingdom of Glory, united with her brother, Remy Morosani XV, who went to prepare the way on Jan. 10, 1993, whom she loved and missed; her father, Remy XIV; her grandfather Remy XIII; and her dearest friend, Tom; along with many others. A lifelong resident of Connecticut, she was born Aug. 20, 1960, in Meriden, and lived in Berlin and Durham. She moved to Middletown after her marriage. Like a beautiful bird, she loved to travel to exotic places. She took many trips to Switzerland, where her father and brother lived. In recent years she lived in Broad Brook with her mother, Jacqueline Morosani, whom she accompanied around the United States, to Tahiti, and many other places. At her side was her loving and devoted mother; her son, Michael, and Lisa Smith; son Derek Flanagan; her former husband, Michael Flanagan of Middletown; her brother, Reto, and his wife, Julie Morosani; and cousin Sara Piatti and family, all of East Hartford; her sister, Tanya Morosani of Middletown; aunt Suzanne and uncle Donald Bridge of Florida; aunt Arlene and uncle Joseph Piatti of Portland; and Bram Van Romund and many friends; and her uncle Michael Foster and his wife. She also leaves her niece and nephew, Jessica and Justin Hoffman, for whom she had a very special place in her heart; cousins Billy and Howard McGonagle and their wives and children, Lorraind Aleksiewitz and family, and Ernie and Joanne Piatti and their families. On her father's side, she leaves the Morosani Family of Litchfield, which includes many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves many other relatives in Switzerland, along with many friends whom she touched along her walk in life. Elviera was a blessed and bright light in the lives of all who knew her, her loving and selflessness, her generosity to others with less, her zest for life, and her fun-loving spirit. The world will not be the same with her passing; she will be dearly missed. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at the funeral home. *********************************************** Copyright.
