"Ernie" Gagne, 86, formerly of Sword Avenue, Enfield, widower of Thelma (Bassett) Gagne, died peacefully at the Cobalt Lodge Convalescent Home, Cobalt, Thursday, May 3, 2001. Born in Wilbraham, Mass., Ernie was a longtime resident of the community for over 45 years. He was a communicant of St. Adalbert Church, and he was employed at Eastern Etching as the superintendent for 35 years, retiring in 1978. He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Rzasa and her husband, John, of East Hampton; a son, Richard E. Gagne of Enfield; four grandchildren, Adrienne Rzasa, Anne Dooley and her husband, Peadar, Sarah Rzasa, and John Rzasa; and two great-grandchildren, Clara and Eoin; and he will be missed by his extended family and caregivers at Cobalt Lodge. Ernie's funeral will be held at 10:15 a.m. Monday, May 7, from the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Adalbert Church, Enfield. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery His family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at the funeral home. *********************************************** Copyright.
