It is always best to consult the original material for verification. ************************************************************************ ***************************************************************************** GAUTHIER Robert Donald Gauthier, 64, of East Hartford and Wellfleet, Mass., beloved husband of Elizabeth (Hoffman) Gauthier, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Hartford Hospital, after a long illness, his family by his side. Robert was born in Springfield, on Sept. 22, 1936, son of the late Walter and Marion (Gibbs) Gauthier and had been an East Hartford resident for 42 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict. Prior to his retirement in the fall of 1996, Robert was employed for 27 years by the East Hartford Board of Education. Besides his wife of 42 years, Robert is survived by a sister, Gloria Fish of Port Richey, Fla.; a special nephew, Edward Szczepanek of Springfield; a special niece, Diana Wright of East Hartford; and several other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Richard Gauthier, and two sisters, Elsie Szczepanek and Ella Mae French. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, May 7, at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Church, 33 Church St., East Hartford. Burial with full military honors will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Vernon. Relatives and friends are respectfully asked to attend. The Gauthier family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at the funeral home. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be made to Patient and Family Benefit Fund, Hartford Transplant Associates, 85 Seymour St., Hartford, CT 06106. *********************************************** Copyright.
