Golemba, 80, of Stone Pond Dr., Tolland, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Rockville General Hospital. He was the husband of Joanne (May) Golemba. Leonard was predeceased by his first wife, Audrey Ruth (Nutland) Golemba. He was born in Rockville on Jan. 11, 1923, son of the late Frank and Amelia (Seidor) Golemba, and resided in Rockville and Vernon, moving to Tolland ten years ago. He was a graduate of Rockville High School and an Army Veteran of WWII. As a young man, he was employed picking tobacco and also was a clerk at the former Rockville Hotel. Mr. Golemba was a communicant of St. Matthew Church, Tolland, where he served as an usher. He retired from Hartford Insurance Group with 40 years of service. Leonard previously bowled with the Vernon Senior Bowling League and he enjoyed the Vernon Senior Golfing League. He also enjoyed fishing, collecting coins and stamps, and traveling. He was an avid reader. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Golemba of 1134 Hartford Tpke., Vernon; three stepdaughters, Lisa Harris of Vernon, Lynda Moore of Asheville, N.C., and Leslie Leonard of Tolland; a brother, Lawrence Golemba of Wethersfield; two nephews, David Golemba of South Windsor and Thomas Golemba of Springfield, Mass.; a niece, Susan Jones of Coventry; and an aunt, Gertrude Edwards of Ellington. His funeral will be Thursday, April 10, 2003, 9 a.m., from White-Gibson-Small Funeral Home, 65 Elm St., Rockville, for a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at St. Matthew Church, Tolland. Interment with military honors will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 9, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., P.O.
