Gorman Sr. Albert J. Gorman Sr., 91, the husband of the late Dorothy (Sampson) Gorman, died Friday, April 13, 2001, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Manchester, he was a lifelong resident. He was the founder and owner-operator of Albert J. Gorman Excavating Co., until his retirement in 1986. Al was an avid hunter and fisherman, who looked forward to his trips with his close friend, Lindy Childress. Al is survived by his three sons, James J. Gorman of East Hartford, Albert J. Gorman Jr. and his wife, Alice, and Robert "Pete" Gorman, all of Manchester; his daughter, Janet (Gorman) DeCiantis of Manchester; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter and two sons-in-law, Marjorie and Harry McCavanagh, and Anthony DeCiantis. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Church, Manchester. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday morning, April 16, at the John F.
