Born in Rockville, son of the late Harry and Grace (Boothroyd) Hansen, he had lived in Windsor Locks for nearly 30 years. He retired from Combustion Engineering in 1991 after 30 years of service. Michael was an avid fan of most sports and had enjoyed playing golf and tennis. Most of all he was a caring person who befriended many of the residents of Vernon Manor. He leaves his sisters and brothers-in-law, Anita and Michael Nitsche of Vernon and Karen and David Mastroianni of Ellington; his brother, Howard Hansen of Manchester; six nieces and nephews, Audrey Hansen, Kevin and Stephen Nitsche, and Ann, Mary, and Ellen Mastroianni; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Harry, and his niece, Janice. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, at St. John Episcopal Church, 523 Hartford Turnpike (Route 30), Vernon. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Vernon. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the Ladd-Turkington Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, (Route 83), Vernon.
