Born in Hinson, Fla., he lived in Windsor and Suffield before moving to Windsor Locks 30 years ago. He was employed by Culbro for many years before retiring at age 81. He was a member of Hartford Lodge 88 AF&AM and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter and her husband, Nan and Randolph Clark of Richmond, Va.; his twin sister, Nan H. Martin of Live Oak, Fla.; six grandchildren, Lisa (Rapp) Phillips of Suffield, Wayne D. Clark of Austin, Texas, Christopher T. Clark of Worcester, Shelly (Rapp) Bednaz of Granby, Wendy (Rapp) Devine of Suffield, and Melissa (Clark) Denis of Dallas; eight great-grandchildren, Chelsea Phillips, Justin Phillips, Shanda Clark, Courtney Bednaz, Michael Bednaz, Kellee Devine, Colin Devine, and Rylan Denis; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Croxford; a sister, Maggie McPherson; and two brothers, Ted Hinson and Walter Hinson. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St., Suffield, followed by burial in West Suffield Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the funeral home.
