Hery, 75, of Mayflower Road, Stafford Springs, and formerly of Barrows Road, Union, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at home. She was the widow of the late Edward P. Hery, who died August 26, 2000. Betty was born in Stafford Springs, the daughter of the late Napolian and Beatrice (Frazier) Gilman. She was a retired custodian for residential life at the University of Connecticut and a member of St. Edward Church. Betty is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jody H. and Lloyd E. Champagne; 2 grandchildren, Justin L. Champagne, Bethany L. Champagne; a nephew, Michael Hery and his wife Carol, all of Stafford Springs; 2 great-nieces, Chelsea Hery, Stacy Hery; her special caregiver, Cindy Zimmerman; and many family and friends who gave their care and support. Funeral will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at 9 a.m. at Introvigne Funeral Home Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Edward Church, High Street, Stafford Springs. Burial will follow in Union Center Cemetery, Union. Calling hours are Tuesday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
