(Preston) Harrison, 82, of Vernon, formerly of Manchester, beloved wife for 57 years of James Howard Harrison, died Monday, April 9, 2001, at her home after a long illness. Born in Manchester, July 22, 1918, daughter of the late Harold L. and Carrie (Vanderbilt) Preston, she attended Manchester schools and had been a resident in Vernon for more than 40 years. She was a member of First Congregational Church of Vernon. She and her husband spent many summers at Sebec Lake in Maine. Besides her husband, Beatrice is survived by her sister, Alice P. Estelle of Houston; her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Roger A. and RuthAnn Preston of Simsbury; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be private in East Cemetery, Manchester.
