Hambach, 83, of Ellington, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at a local convalescent home. She was born in Broad Brook, daughter of the late George J. and Katherine (Birmingham) Hambach, and had lived in Ellington for many years. She was employed by Aetna Fire Insurance Company for more than 25 years, then by Putnam, Coffin, Burr stockbrokers, and then retired from Mass. Mutual Insurance Agency of Hartford. She was a communicant of St. Catherine Church, East Windsor, a member of the St. Catherine Holy Rosary Society, a member of the Ellington Historical Society, and was active in the Friends of Hall Memorial Library of Ellington. She is survived by her loving sister with whom she lived her lifetime, Rita Hambach of Ellington; her brother, George Hambach of Rockville; her loving nephew, James Gessay of Ellington; and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Katherine Gessay, and her twin brother, Vincent Hambach. She will be remembered for her beautiful, expressive eyes, and her wonderful smile. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, from Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine Church. Burial will be at St. Catherine Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Catherine Church, 4 Windsorville Road, East Windsor, CT 06088, or to a charity of the donor's choice. *********************************************** Copyright.
