(Hydack) Jacius Claire A. "Bunny" (Hydack) Jacius, 79, of Avon Street, Enfield, entered into eternal peace Sunday, April 29, 2001, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Bunny was the widow of John J. Jacius Jr., who passed in 1957. She was born on Sept. 23, 1921, in Springfield, the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Tenerowicz) Hydack. Bunny was a graduate of Enfield High School and a lifelong resident of Enfield. She owned and operated Hydack's Hardware in Thompsonville for more than 30 years and retired in 1989. She was a member of Tanguay McGill Post 80 American Legion Women's Auxiliary and a member of the former Polish National Home Association. Bunny was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her son, Thomas J. Jacius and his wife, Joyce, of East Granby; and her two daughters, Janilyn and her husband, Peter T. Taylor, M.D., of Somers, and Carole and her husband, Raymond Vicino, of Farmington; six beloved grandchildren, Thomas "T.J." Jacius and his wife, Doreen of East Granby, Erica K. Evans, Ph.D., of Brookline, Mass., Christine Bennett and her husband, Lee, of Maple Grove, Minn., Scott D. Jacius of East Granby, and Jacqueline and Nicole Vicino of Farmington; her great-granddaughter, Sarah Jacius of East Granby; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Hydack, and four sisters, Victoria Annis, Nellie Fields, Sally Burdza, and Helen Wojnar. Special love and gratitude to Mitzie Annis, Adrienne Wright, and Edward Wojnar. The funeral service for Bunny will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield (Exit 48 off Interstate 91, east on Route 220 for 1¼ miles), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Adalbert Church. Committal service will be at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Enfield. Bunny's family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at the funeral home.
