Jones, 96, of Suffield, died Thursday, May 24, 2001. Born in Suffield, the daughter of the late Price and Emma (Cobb) Jones, she was a life-long resident. She was employed by Baystate Medical Center as a registered nurse for 20 years, retiring in 1970. She was also a school nurse in Suffield and East Granby for 17 years and was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy. Geraldene was a member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational and the Suffield Chapter of the AARP. She is survived by eight cousins, among them are Lloyd Jones Jr. of South Windsor and Carol MacIntyre of Suffield. She was predeceased by three brothers, Lloyd Jones, Russell Jones, George Jones, and a sister, Elizabeth Slowick. Memorial services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 81 High St., Suffield. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Church of Christ, Congregational or to the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, 103 Old Iron Ore Road, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
