Kauffman, 64, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. He was born in Rockville on July 6, 1936, son of the late Gordon Kauffman and Louise (Ott) Kauffman of Rockville. Gordon was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was a self-employed mason contractor. Gordon was a member of the American Legion in Ponte Vedra Beach. Also, he was a talented pianist. Besides his mother, he is survived by three sons, Gordon Kauffman of Jacksonville, Fla., Robert Kauffman of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Rickey Kauffman of Andover; a brother, William Kauffman of Tolland; a sister, Emmalyn Goff of Valparaiso, Ind.; and six grandchildren, Dona, Christian, Robert, Gordon, Jessie, and Benjamin. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 11, at Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville, with the Rev. David Halmers officiating. There are no calling hours. White-Gibson-Small Funeral Home, 65 Elm St., Rockville, is in care of arrangements.
