Born in Hartford on July 4, 1928, daughter of the late John and Mary (Hunter) Ulrich, Charlotte was a homemaker. She attended Bulkeley High School, Hartford, and the University of Connecticut. She earned her bachelor of arts in art history and bachelor of arts in studio art from Connecticut College. She also did undergraduate studies at University of California, Santa Cruz, and University of Hawaii. She earned her master's in textiles from University of Rhode Island. Mrs. King was an avid painter, artist, and gardener. She is survived by her husband, Robert J. King Sr.; her son, Robert J. King Jr. of Westerly; two daughters, Cynthia A. Wynn of Mill Valley, Calif., and Nancy J. King of Studio City, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
