King Wilfred B. King, 80, beloved husband of Marguerite (Hardy) King of Avon, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at McLean Home, Simsbury. Born in Kingston, Mass., he had lived in East Hartford for 23 years and in Granby for 10 years before moving to Avon last year. Before retiring he worked at Prudential Insurance for 17 years. Mr. King was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Kim and Marc and Lynn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Edward and Pamela and Ron, all of Connecticut; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19, in Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. His family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor.
