Richard Keery Jr. M. Richard "Rick" Keery Jr., 31, of Agawam, Mass., passed from this life on Friday, April 27, 2001. Rick was born in Hartford and had lived in Somers and Vernon before moving to Agawam. Rick belonged to First Congregational Church of Vernon and had been a member of Somers Volunteer Fire Department Squad 2, and later was with the Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. He had belonged to the Connecticut National Guard for six years. Rick will be remembered for his love of cars, music, and especially computers. He is survived by his daughter, Sadie Keery of Enfield; his father, Malcolm R. Keery Sr. and his wife, Sandra (Hocking) Keery of Somers; along with his mother, Nancy (Ferguson) Cayward of Vernon. Rick also leaves his brother, William Brooker and wife, Joy, of Tolland; his sister, Tabor LeBlanc of Vernon; his grandmother, Eleanor T. Keery of Somers; and a special friend, Melanie Notman of Stafford. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Somers Congregational Church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made in Rick's name to the music programs of First Congregational Church of Vernon, 695 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, CT 06066, or to Somers Congregational Church, 599 Main St., Somers, CT 06071. *********************************************** Copyright.
