TITLE: Herbert Krivacs, Obituary, May 27, 2001 SUBMITTERS: Journal Inquirer Manchester,CT (issue May 29, 2001) FORMATTED: ABishop, Sept 2001 ************************************************************************************************ KRIVACS Herbert "Herb" Krivacs, 70, of Sky Street, Enfield, beloved husband of Olive (Flint) Krivacs of 50 years, died peacefully at his home Sunday, May 27, 2001, surrounded by his loving family. Herb was born in New York City and was a resident of the Enfield community for 44 years. He was affectionately known as "The Mayor" of Sky Street. Herbert was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Air Force. He enjoyed his employment at the George Stickley Co. for more than 10 years, and he was self-employed for many years. Herb was also avid in sports, especially softball and bowling. He was the No. 1 fan of the Yankees, for whom he remained faithful, supporting, and cheering throughout his life. Herb was active in card playing, spending many hours involved in bridge games. Aside from sports, Herb enjoyed gardening, but most importantly, he enjoyed the time spent with his family. Besides his wife, Olive, Herb leaves a son, Tom Krivacs, and his wife, Kelly, of Springfield; three daughters, Sheri Sochor and her husband, Jerry, of Putnam, Debra Ty of San Diego, and Donna Gordon and her husband, Kevin, of Clifton, Colo.; a brother, Richard Krivacs and his wife, Jean, of Wassaic, N.Y.; two sisters, Eleanor Morrell and her husband, Howard, of Sun City Center, Fla., and Muriel Nollenberger and her husband, Fred, of Elkins, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Tracy and her husband, Michael Fabrizi, Kristofer Krivacs, and Angela and Alec Gordon; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis Krivacs and Helen (Huettner) Krivacs; and a brother, Arthur Krivacs. Herb's funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 31, in the Randolph Center Veterans Cemetery, Randolph, Vt. Herb's family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the funeral home.
