Kairis John C. Kairis, 89, of Pinney Road, Somers, husband of the late Emma Mary (Gagnon) Kairis, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was the son of the late John A. and Josephine (Burneika) Kairis, and had been a resident of the Somers community for many years. He had previously lived in East Hartford. During World War II, he was employed as a repair technician, servicing instrument panels and radar equipment on military aircraft at Bradley Airport. He was later employed as the projectionist at the former Strand Theater in Enfield for several years. Mr. Kairis also operated a watch and clock repair service for many years. He leaves no known survivors. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at All Saints Church, Somersville. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Enfield. Friends may call from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4 at the funeral home. *********************************************** Copyright.
