Bette L. (Bruce) LaPointe


Bette L. (Bruce) LaPointe, 89, of Vernon, died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at a 
local nursing home. She was the widow of Francis LaPointe.

Born in Ashburnham, Mass., daughter of the late Charles and Susie A. (Lashua) 
Bruce, she was a Connecticut resident for more than 38 years. Prior to her 
retirement, she worked as a waitress for G. Fox & Co., Hartford.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Joan McMahon of Vernon, and 
Margaret and Alvin Whitman of Kingsport, Tenn.; her five grandchildren and their 
spouses, Susan McMahon and Peter Corson, Lisa and Marcus Maiden, Michael and 
Julie Whitman, Brian and Kathy Whitman, and Mary and William Waldman; her four 
great-grandchildren, Leah Corson, Brad and Lindsey Whitman, and Lexy Waldman; 
and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There 
are no calling hours.

Ladd-Turkington Funeral Homes, Vernon, has care of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Connecticut Humane 
Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111, or Woodlake at Tolland, 
Recreational Fund, 26 Shenipsit Lake Road, Tolland, CT 06084.
