Lapointe, 85, of Stafford Springs, widow of Aristide "Al" Lapointe, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford. She was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Southbridge, Mass., daughter of Clovis and Anna (Gaulin) Lafleche, and had lived in Coventry for 30 years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 25 years at Underwood Typewriter Co. in Hartford and later at the Travelers Insurance Co. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Doris and Lenny Watrous of Stafford Springs, David and Chong Lapointe of North Pole, Alaska, and Doreen and James Bell of Willimantic; six grandchildren, Steven, Carrie, Mark, David, Michelle, and Rebecca; four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ashleigh, Coty, and Ryen; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece and her husband, Elaine and Paul Magnon of Bristol. The funeral procession will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, from the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, (Route 195, ½ mile south of Route 6), going to the celebration of her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Valley Street, Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the funeral home. *********************************************** Copyright.
