Little Sterling F. Little, 82, of Lawrence Street, Rockville, died peacefully on Monday, April 23, 2001, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Josephine (Devlin) Little. Sterling was born in Rockville Sept. 5, 1918, son of the late Charles J. and Elsie (Morrell) Little, and resided in Ellington and Rockville all his life. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Enterprise. Prior to his retirement in 1984, he was employed by Oldham Studios in Wethersfield. He was a communicant and former trustee of St. Bernard Church, Rockville. Also, Sterling was a charter member of Knights of Columbus, and a member of the AARP and the Rockville Fish & Game Club. Besides his wife, Josephine, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles F. and Kimberley Little of Tolland; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia and Richard Dimock of Ellington, Barbara Little of Vernon, and Mary and David Layman of Tolland; seven grandchildren; and a niece and two nephews. Sterling was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Artz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 27, at the White-Gibson-Small Funeral Home, 65 Elm St., Rockville.
