TITLE: Michael Longo, Obituary, May 28, 2001 SUBMITTERS: Journal Inquirer Manchester,CT (issue May 30, 2001) FORMATTED: ABishop, June 2001 ***************************************************************************** LONGO Michael Longo, 63, of Oldefield Farms, Enfield, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford. He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Macken) Longo for 38 years and son of the late Michael and Mae (Laiosa) Longo. Michael was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and raised in Pennsylvania, moving to Connecticut for 19 years, then to Massachusetts for 23 years, finally settling back in Enfield in the past year. He was a graduate of Penn State with a bachelor's degree in engineering. Michael was employed for 19 years as a design engineer at Pratt & Whitney, and for General Electric for the past 17 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be dearly missed. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, David Longo of Boston; a daughter, Susan Longo of East Harwich, Mass.; two honorary children, Gill and Lynn Stevens of Reading, Mass.; a brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Mary Longo of North Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Alice Kelly of Cromwell; five honorary grandchildren, Gib, Chet, Nick, Russ, and Kirsten; three nieces; two nephews; five grandnieces and grandnephews; and many cousins. The funeral will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, June 2, from the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, Enfield. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill. Michael's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 1, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Michael's name may be made to Circle of Friends, Florida Hospital, 613 Lake Winyah Drive, Orlando, FL 32803. *********************************************** Copyright.
