Larabee Full military honors were tendered Ovila L. Larabee, of 59 Asnuntuck St., an Army veteran of World War I, at his funeral, Monday, by Patrick F. Triggs Post VFW. The funeral was held from the Leeter Funeral Home with a solemn high mass celebrated at St. Patrick's Church by the Rev. William D. Clifford, as celebrant; the Rev. Joseph Forte, as deacon; and the Rev. Thomas F. Dennehy as subdeacon. The bearers, all members of Patrick F. Triggs Post, were Lewis E. Wilby, William Lacey, Benjamin Skowron, Robert Watton, Joseph Bielecki and John J. Wilby. Father Forte read the committal prayers atthe grave in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery. Edward LaGrange of the VFW Post served as chaplain; Edward Bourgiouse was the bugler. Commander Lewis Wilby was in charge with Robert Watton serving as Officer of the Day. The firing squad was comprised of 1st Sgt. Liborio DiMaria, leader, S/Sgt. Ronald J. Gregory; Sgt. Wallace O. Bennett Jr., Sgt. Robert J. Getty. Sp5 Gerald A. Lagace and Sp-4 Vincent G. Marino. Mr. Larabee died at his hime last Friday. He was born in Canada on July 20, 1887, the son of Eli and Phillimen (Bissinon) Larabee, and was the husband of Marie (Hamel) Larabee. He retired seven yers ago after having been employed for 52 years as a machinist at Bigelow Sanford. He was a member of Patrick F. Triggs Post No. 1501, VFW. In addition to his wife, he leaves three brothers, Joseph Larabee of Thompsonville, Louis of East Springfield, and Homer of Manchester. *********************************************** Copyright.
