McCabe Elizabeth A. "Betty" McCabe, 73, of North Main Street, Windsor Locks, wife of the late Joseph V. McCabe Sr., died Friday, April 27, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Betty was born in West Suffield, daughter of the late Hugh and T. Elizabeth (Erhart) Stratton, and graduated from Suffield High School in 1945. She had lived in Windsor Locks since 1957. Betty was the banquet manager at the former Tobacco Valley Inn, Windsor, and retired from J.C. Penney. She is survived by her children, Joseph V. McCabe Jr. of Orange, Calif., Mary M. Foster and her husband, Timothy, of West Suffield, Karen L. Farman and her husband, Brad, of Grand Ledge, Mich., Theresa J. Blady and her husband, Tom, of Jacksonville, Fla., Margaret A. Engelmann and her husband, Brian, of Windsor Locks, and Maureen L. McCabe of Meriden; a brother, William A. "Bud" Stratton Sr. and his wife, Marilyn, of Windsor Locks; a sister, Helen Mew of Florence, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and 27 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Regina Beveridge, Lenna Young Favreau, and Lillian "Onnie" Jackson. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, for a procession to St. Mary Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 30, at the funeral home.
