Majowitz Louis S. Majowitz, 73, of Manchester, husband of Beverly (Carrier) Majowitz, died Friday, April 13, 2001, at a local convalescent home. Born in Wilson, April 1, 1928, son of the late George and Frances (Zagula) Majowitz, he had resided in Manchester for the past 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army for four years, and prior to retiring was employed by the Metropolitan District Commission. Besides his wife, Mr. Majowitz is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Majowitz of Treasure Island, Fla., and Stephen and Corina Majowitz of Manchester; three daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Steven Ambrose of Windsor Locks, Peg and Jude Brooker of Columbia, and Laurie and John Lawrence of Tolland; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Theodore and Joyce Majowitz of Enfield, and Joseph Majowitz of New Britain; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Amelia and Albert Bachand of Newington, and Helen Pudlo of Glastonbury; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister and two brothers. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 16, at the funeral home.
