It is always best to consult the original material for verification. ************************************************************************ ***************************************************************************** MCCORKLE Eleanor (Keune) McCorkle, 64, of New Britain, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at a health care facility in Mansfield. Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Clifford and Frances (Cole) Keune, she was raised in Rockville and then resided in New Britain for most of her life. Eleanor was a graduate of Rockville High School, class of 1954, and graduated from the Teachers College of Connecticut with a master's degree in education in 1959. She was a teacher in the New Britain school system for 33 years prior to her retirement in 1995. She was a former member of the Plainville Congregational Church and a member of the church choir. She also was active in the Whole in the Wall Theater and the Repertory Theater, both of New Britain. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Diana Keune of Ellington; her sister, Mary Paluska of Rockville; her nieces and nephews, Daniel Keune and his wife, Christina, Dawn and Beth Devlin-Keune, David Keune and his wife, Leslie, Kathy Paluska, Michael Paluska, Noreen Timmons, Kenneth Murray, and Susan Linton. A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, May 19, at St. John Episcopal Church, 523 Hartford Turnpike (Route 30), Vernon. Burial will be in the Ellington Center Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 18, at the Ladd Funeral Home, 19 Ellington Ave., Rockville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. John Episcopal Church Building Fund, 523 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, CT 06066. *********************************************** Copyright.
