Moroz, 75, of Manchester and formerly of Granby, husband of Kathleen (Walls) Moroz, and the late Barbara (Johnson) Moroz, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at an area convalescent home. He was born Nov. 27, 1925, in West Hartford, son of the late Vlademire and Kathrine (Shabot) Moroz, and had been a resident of Granby for more than 25 years before moving to Manchester in 1976. Mr. Moroz was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the destroyer USS McNair during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2046 in Manchester, a charter member of the Oldies but Goodies Bowling League at Silver Lanes in East Hartford, and a member of the Primetimers No. 1 and No. 2 at Vernon Lanes. Prior to his retirement in 1988, he had been a bus driver for more than 40 years with the Connecticut Transit Company. Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Timothy Paul Moroz and his wife, Marina, of Hilton Head, S.C., Lawrence A. Fullerton of East Hartford, Judith Roberts and her husband, Darrin, of Orange, Vt., and Claudia Fullerton of Manchester; a sister, Helen E. Owen and her husband, Massie, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Marie Nickerson and her husband, Dwight, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Grace Ottone of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, Terry Moroz, Barbara Ross and her husband, Kenneth, all of Hilton Head, Jason, Aaron, and Brandon Fullerton, all of East Hartford, Steven McCarty Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of Southington, Robert McCarty of Orange, Vt., Deborah Clauss and her husband, Dave, of Bristol, William McCarty and his wife, Shannon, of Tampa, Fla., Renee Wild and her husband, Clayton, of Agawam, Mass., Heather Gaylord of Windsor, and Heidi Gaylord of Enfield; five great-grandchildren, Blake Ross of Hilton Head, Shayne McCarty of Tampa, and Naomi, Nicole, and R ebecca Clauss, all of Bristol; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Moroz was predeceased by a son, Michael J. Moroz, and a brother-in-law and best friend, Frank Ottone. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial with military honors will be in the Hillstown Road Veterans Cemetery, Manchester. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the funeral home.
