(McConville) Moriarty, 88, the widow of Edward J. Moriarty, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Hartford Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late John and Catherine McConville, she had been a lifelong resident of Manchester. Prior to retirement, Teresa was employed by the Manchester Board of Education as a secretary at Bennet Middle School. Active in community and church affairs, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the St. James School Foundation. She was a member of the Ladies of St. James; the Ladies of Columbus; the Manchester Women's Club; the auxiliaries of Manchester Memorial Hospital and St. Francis Hospital; and the Manchester Retirees Club. She was program director of the St. James Senior Group, and had worked at the polls during many elections. She is survived by her sons, Brendan N. Moriarty of Vernon, and Kevin E. Moriarty of Northport, Fla; her sister, Mary Montie, of Vernon; and many nieces and nephews. Teresa was also predeceased by her brothers, John and James McConville. Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester. A Mass of Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, with burial in St. James Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Teresa's family requests memorial donations be made to the St. James School Foundation, P.O.
