Nicotera Joseph F. Nicotera, 84, of Henderson Street, Bristol, husband of Victoria (Turkowsky) Nicotera, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Nursing Care Center of Bristol. Mr. Nicotera was born in New Haven, June 4, 1916, and was a son of the late Domenic and Caroline (Giamini) Nicotera. He resided in Bristol all his life and was employed at the Manross Division of the Barnes Group for 40 years, retiring in 1980. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a member of St. Joseph Church, American Legion Seicheprey Post 2, and the James McNamee Chapter 5 Disabled American Veterans. In addition to his wife, Mr. Nicotera is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard C. and Jacqueline Nicotera of Enfield; two grandchildren, Lisa Nicotera of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Paul Nicotera of Bristol; and two nieces and three nephews. A funeral service was held today, April 27, from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial with military honors followed in St. Joseph Cemetery.
