She was the daughter of the late David Hurley and Mary Kathleen (Filossie) Trombly. Elizabeth was born in Stafford Springs and lived in Enfield for most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Martha Church and a member of the Golden Ages Senior Center, Enfield. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard and Cindy Nelson of Ludlow, Mass., Donald and Margaret Nelson of Enfield, and Dean Nelson of Guilford, Vt.; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Debra and Salvatore Rivers-Maniafico of Sarasota, Fla., Donna and Steven Cartwright of Enfield, Darlene and Jack Burns of Enfield, Diane Nelson of Enfield, and Dorene Nelson of Jewett City; a brother, Robert Trombly of Vermont; two sisters, Marilyn Brooks and Maria Bastarache, both of Enfield; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four special friends, Lois, George, Rita, and J.D. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Dale Edward Nelson; a brother, David "Buzzy" Trombly Jr.; and a sister, Marlene Kittle. The funeral will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Martha Church, Enfield. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Enfield. Elizabeth's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at the funeral home.
